So ... was proboards "upgrade" to finally join the 20th century and go to phpBB, or are we with a different provider now?

No, technically, we did not change provider. It's the same box that runs our central servers, galleries etc. I did not want to move from proboards because of all informative posts there and all registered users we had. Now we have to make all reregister.

Good thing about phpBB is that we can backup and transfer database from host to host and different boards. Proboards does not allow to export database to another forums.
