got big server... but what to put on it?

I have a hefty server in LA, but now that UT is basically dead... what games are out there that would be worth throwing on... I'm so sick of the 2k4 demo kiddies F-ing things up...

I'm open for suggestions...

yes, for bans and whatever else...

I shut down my demo server, I just don't have time to monitor it... I could start it back up if some of the IDA players wanted to admin it for me... ask around Hogs and see if IDA players would want to do that... I'll trust who you trust...

I wish there was an LGI CTF server with a strong population of players. InF's server is the only one that comes close, but they use UTComp and a number of other distracting mods and mutators (i.e. unlimited dodging).

I'd say, try and put up a full server that has a map rotation of about 20-30 of the more popular maps -- not 500 maps on one list -- especially those catered specifically to LG. Make it a standard LG ladder server: low gravity, boosting, no trans, no zoom. Nothing more, nothing less.

If that doesn't work, I'd go for Quake 4. I'm going to be trying it out when it hits stores, and if I like it, it should do well in distracting me until UT2K7.

And you will play on a west coast server?

odd1, do you see new private section on this forum? Hope I set it up correctly.
As for admins, the best person to talk to is 3Day. He's an UT junkie and likes to admin west coast servers.

aw, the secret is out. Yea I been out of work past 2 weeks which makes more time for UT. "They" have been asking if the server is coming back up. Sure if you want to please the community I can help. btw funk totally quit UT ?

yeah, I think so... I haven't seen a single funK player in months...

I'll put back the demo soon, prolly by this weekend... I just get sick of the teenie boppers, this is why I don't want to admin it, at times I feel like banning the whole lot that's playing LOL... wish there was a 25 and older club, hehehe

I was running that demo server at a 40 tic and 20k max client...

As far as the full 2k4 Odibil, I too don't like all that jumpin around crap, so if I do restart the full server, I'll put it up like you said and IDA can share in the administration of it... this is why I'd like to see an admins only section on this forum... Hogs, email me the pass for the admins only area...

You don't need a password to access it. It's set to user name based access.
