well, I installed this thing last night on my x-fi XtremeMusic, and maybe it's just me, but it sounds exactly the same (and it's meant to be enabled by default). Not one bit of difference, nothing. And what's worse, I get no music now either. Anyone else get this to work?

guess so...

probably some setting on my PC is wrong... who knows..

Update:

aha! Seems to only work in single player mode (for me anyway). Love the new sounds! Music still doesn't work though.

I do, but I don't use it for gaming. Great for listening to music though.

does this add-on thing help you hear everything better(footsteps etc...).?

also if any of you use sound cards/surround sound speaker sets, any recommendations?

i have an m-audio 2496 that i use for gaming and audio production.

i don't have gaming speakers, just monitors, but i'd recommend Klipsch for gaming surround.

sound is pretty clear already ( I could hear footsteps even before the patch) - but yeah, sounds good (when it works!).

Sounds like it's designed for blind people to help them shoot better. :P

Klipsch and high end logitech are good surround systems.
